Top Question of the Week:
This week’s top question is from a producer wondering about seeding cover crops with low soil moisture, and little precipitation in the upcoming forecast. Here is what the farmer asked:
“Can it be too dry for planting cover crops? I’ve only used cover crops for the past 3 years. (Rye). I’m located in Eastern Nebraska. We are extremely dry with not much rain in the nearby forecast. Is it worth the cost of seed to try to seed some rye? I grow corn and soybean rotation. Would rye germinate even if there’s no moisture in the top inch or if we do get enough rain to get it to germinate will it just die a week later?”
Check out Keri Buttke’s response to this deep question and other experts’ responses in the AGvisorPRO app today.
Featured Expert Profile:
Colby Robertson
Colby Robertson is a professional when it comes to potato production. He has worked with two multinational potato processors, and has been actively involved with many different university research teams on potato handling, storage, and disease resistance.
His passion for agriculture came from his affinity for people, plants, and food. Over the years he’s been connecting the dots between growing potatoes and a consumer product. The most valuable thing Colby has taken away from the many years he has been involved in agriculture and food production is that there is always more to learn, and new things to discover. When Colby isn’t reading about the world’s next crop of potatoes, he enjoys listening to music, fiction novels, and spending time with his family.
Agriculture is not just Colby’s passion, it’s his culture.

Friends of AGvisorPRO
The AGvisorPRO team had the opportunity to attend the StrongHer Together Women in Ag conference in Fort Benton, Montana this week. This was a great event and we even got to meet friend of AGvisorPRO, Katelyn Duban, in person! Thank you Stacy Bronec and Chandee Bombgardner for the invitation and we were honoured to sponsor this event.
What's coming next in AGvisorPRO?
This week we have something really special for you all… all you need to do is update the AGvisorPRO app and tap the search icon on the dashboard!
The new search allows you to sort through previous questions, answers, experts, and companies by using KEYWORDS. Gone are the days of the clunky search, it is now easier than ever to search for exactly what you’re looking for.
Since we released Ask the Network last November, we have had over 800 questions come into the app and over (1400) question responses. Search lets you explore that entire database!
Give it a try by typing “Canola” into the search bar and see what you can find!
